Hanarth foundation funds new project

Many patients with glioma undergo surgical resection of their tumor. However, this surgery may lead to functional and cognitive decline that hampers quality of life. Predictors of such decline are currently unknown, making it difficult for patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals to manage and prognosticate functional decline.

In this new, collaborative project, titled “Predicting functional and cognitive decline after glioma surgery (PREDICT)”, computational modelling and machine learning will be exploited in combination with network neuroscientific experimental methods, in order to better predict which patients are at risk of functional and cognitive decline. The project team consists of Linda, Philip De Witt Hamer, Roelant Eijgelaar and Prejaas Tewarie.
