My name is Iza, the new research analyst. I recently completed my bachelor’s in Life Sciences, specializing in biology and medical laboratory research. Before starting this project, I gained valuable experience during a one-year internship at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience, where I focused on studying neurological processes related to cognitive function and behavior. This experience provided me with a solid foundation in understanding the complexities of brain function and the biological mechanisms that can lead to cognitive impairments.
As a research analyst, my role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to help identify the causes of cognitive issues that some cancer patients experience after chemotherapy, often referred to as ‘chemo brain.’ I’m particularly interested in how these cognitive changes impact patients’ daily lives and what can be done to mitigate these effects. My background in neuroscience research has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to contribute meaningfully to this important area of study.
I’m looking forward to using my expertise to help advance our understanding of these cognitive challenges and to contribute to developing better support and treatment strategies for patients.
