Hi! My name is Floris, a recent graduate in Neurosciences and Philosophy of Neurosciences. After previous stints at MULTINET lab as an intern and research assistant, I’m back again for a short research project!I
I will work on an already existing imaging database with MRI scans of hundreds of glioma patients. These MRI scans were collected over a long time period and have now been combined with more clinical information. Big thanks to everyone who laid the groundwork for this database, and the patients themselves of course!
In the next months, I will organize and process the MRI scans in the database using AI-based software that can automatically locate the tumor and calculate many tumor characteristics simultaneously, such as its overlap with different brain regions and networks. Combining these tumor characteristics with clinical patient data may help us get more insight into how we can use MRI scans to predict how the patient may fare in the future, hopefully leading to better treatment decisions.
I am really excited to re-join the MULTINET lab and to take on this project with everyone in the team!
Floris is back!
