A milestone for the M2B study

Our Molecule to Behavior (M2B) study on brain tumors has now included more than two hundred participants! In this study that has been running since 2014, we examine how a brain tumor affects thinking and communication between brain regions, from molecules to behavior. This reflects the core of our multiscale network neuroscience approach within the MULTINET team.

Each participant contributes several types of data, including
• MRI of brain structure and function
• MEG recordings of brain activity
• Neuropsychological testing
• Questionnaires on symptoms and experiences
• Tumor tissue analysis under the microscope

Together, these data form a unique dataset that helps us understand how brain tumors influence brain networks, cognition, symptoms, and the underlying tissue for years to come.

We thank our PhD candidates, research assistants, and all other team members for their continued effort, with special appreciation for Marike van Lingen and Mona Zimmermann in the picture, who have led the data collection since 2018.

Most of all, we thank the more than two hundred individuals who generously contributed to this research during a demanding period in their lives.
