Desmond joins us as an MSCA DC!

We have another new PhD candidate in the team. Desmond is doing his PhD at the Mathematics department of VU Amsterdam, with Rikkert Hindriks and Frank van der Meulen, within the MSCA-DN BeyondTheEdge. He will stay with us for a secondment of six months. Welcome Desmond!

“Hi everyone. My name is Huixiaqing Liu. I know it is hard to pronounce; you can also call me Desmond. I am a PhD candidate in Mathematics at VU Amsterdam. My project here will focus on using MEG data to detect genuine third-order interactions in brain networks. With third-order interactions I mean investigating how groups of three brain regions influence or interact with each other, rather than just looking at connections between pairs. My background is in computer science and data analysis, and I am now working at the intersection of mathematics and neuroscience.”
