We flocked to House of Bird for the day, starting off by choosing the bird that best represents each of us. From owls to pelicans to swallows, we are a wonderfully diverse flock!
Next, we dove into our vision: how did we arrive at it, and where could it take us if we dare to dream big? The result: a colorful artistic wall capturing our collective ambitions.
The afternoon was devoted to the art of chairing meetings, whether our own lab meeting (which rotates among all lab members, interns included) or beyond. How do you keep everyone on time, and more importantly: how do you build coherence as a chair?
Birds need to fly, of course, so Marieke prepared several exercises to help us stretch our wings. With a sunny 25 degrees Celsius and a few competitive streaks in the group, things got quite heated 🥵.
We ended with a serendipitous twist: just as we shifted from serious work to drinks and dinner, Linda heard that she was promoted to full professor. The perfect milestone to celebrate together with freshly brewed (non-alcoholic) bird beers!
